A final administrative action on Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino‘s forfeiture of $2.5 million was announced this week by the U.S. Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.

 

U.S. Attorney Alicia Limtiaco said, “This forfeiture is the culmination of a year-long investigation. The persistent and dedicated efforts of IRS criminal investigators were instrumental in recovering these funds,” noted the agency spokesman. “The IRS Criminal Investigation, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the Department of Justice will continue to partner together to ensure casinos, financial institutions, and businesses comply with the requirements of federal law and other financial regulations.”

Crown Resorts is currently working on a new Barangaroo casino in Sydney which would offer a VIP-only experience. The venue has a $2 billion price tag and includes a six-star luxury hotel and the casino property. The venue could face a longer date for completion due to delays in planning.

Sun International announced Tuesday that they are seeking a R675 million settlement with Peermont after their bid to merge the two companies under Sun was blocked by South Africa’s Competition Commission in December. The settlement would reportedly assist Sun International in going forward with casino plans at the integrated resort in Tshwane on Menlyn Maine, dubbed Times Square.

The Parisian Macao is constructing a replica of the Eiffel Tower, of half-size, with the entire property project having a price tag of $2.7 billion.
